Group CEO

In 2005 Will joined Paul Allen's Seattle-based Private Equity Group, Vulcan, and now has a dual role. Will is operational CEO of The Hospital Group (and oversees its international roll-out), and is also responsible for sourcing and managing private equity growth capital opportunities and VC opportunities in the Media, Communications and Entertainment space. Will is currently focusing especially on the emerging Digital Media sector.

Having completed a degree in English Language and English Literature and Film School, Will commenced his career in the film industry. He held a variety of roles at Wicked Films, Manifesto Film Sales and Working Title Films. These roles included producing pop videos, commercials and feature films, and responsibility for production, distribution and sales. In 1996, Will became Head of Carlton Films, overseeing feature film production and distribution. As part of his responsibilities at Carlton, Will was involved with the acquisition of Rank and also served as a Special Advisor to the Minister of Culture, Media and Sport on the strategic future of the British Film and TV Industries.

Will was appointed as Head of Sky Pictures, BSkyB's TV, Film-making and Content Division in 1999. In 2002, having taken a Sky-sponsored sabbatical at the Harvard Business School, Will returned to Sky to work for Group CEO, Tony Ball, as Head of Content Strategy.

In late 2003, Will left Sky to pursue Venture Capital and Private Equity opportunities in Media and Leisure, which included leading the early stages of a private equity acquisition of the Odeon Cinema Group as CEO. He concurrently worked as a consultant to two leading US Media Groups, including a Studio, on their International Content, Creation and Distribution strategies.

Will currently serves as a member of the cross-party Conservative Party sponsored Creative Industries Review (led by Greg Dyke) with particular emphasis on the Broadcasting, Digital Media and Film sectors.

Will is married to Emily, and together they have two children (and one dog).
